January 22, 2015The Art Department of District 200 is proud to announce a special art show at the Opera House in February. The artwork on display is produced by students from 1st - 12th grade. Each school has selected one piece of work for the show.
January 16, 2015District 200 welcomes volunteers to read to Pre-K through middle school students during its 24th annual Love to Read Week. The dates for this year’s program are Tuesday, February 17th through Friday, February 20th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. The purpose of the program is to show students the importance of reading as a lifelong skill by having adults share how they enjoy and use reading in their daily lives.
January 12, 2015Girls 3rd-5th grade will participate in activites which help them explore and discuss their own beliefs around experiences and challenges. The Olson team meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 - 3:45 pm for 10 weeks from March 2 - May 16.
January 12, 2015We are happy to announce that the SHAPE Woodstock workshop with Paul Zientarski has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 9th. Inclement weather on January 8th forced the cancellation of our original program, and we are grateful that Mr. Zientarski is able to reschedule with us for April. Zientarski is the founder of the Learning Readiness Program for Naperville School District 203. He will discuss how he and other educators have made a difference in the lives of students through exercise.
January 9, 2015This year Olson's reading challenge runs through February 6, 2015. Please look for information coming home with your student and remember to read each night. Spirit Day events happen every Friday and there is a 30 minute "drop everything and read" (DEAR) time in each classroom. We are also emphasizing the key of COMMITMENT by encouraging students to be committed to their reading goal. January 9, 2015As we continue to develop the 8 Keys of Excellence program for our staff and students at Olson we would like to share a brief summary of this month's focus - the key of COMMITMENT. Students and staff will be asked to demonstrate this key by setting a goal to participate and complete our Olson Reading Challenge.

As winter approaches (bringing with it winter driving conditions), the Transportation Department would like to remind all D200 families of some important safety guidelines.
December 4, 2014Students at Olson, Verda Dierzen and Greenwood schools had the unique opportunity to participate in a worldwide global service project called Operation Christmas Child. What is so awesome about this project is that it’s kids making a difference in this world… it’s kids helping kids!
